All Sports Lovers !
Today, I stand before you with immense pride and gratitude as we reflect on the remarkable achievements of the students from Goa Yuva Sports Club who recently participated in the 2nd South Asian Lathi Championship held in Thimphu, Bhutan.
The championship brought together a diverse group of talented athletes from various countries, each bringing their best to this prestigious competition. Our journey was marked by intense challenges and fierce competition, but our athletes demonstrated exceptional skill, determination, and sportsmanship.
Despite the odds, our students achieved an impressive feat: securing 2 gold medals, 1 silver medal, and 6 bronze medals. This accomplishment is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the unwavering support of their coaches and families. Each medal represents not just a victory, but countless hours of practice, discipline, and perseverance.
However, it is important to acknowledge that our journey was not without its difficulties. Many talented students were eager to join the competition and contribute to our success, but unfortunately, economic constraints prevented their participation. This highlights a significant challenge we face in supporting all our athletes, ensuring they have the opportunities they deserve.
As we celebrate our achievements, we also recognize the need to address these financial barriers. It is our collective responsibility to seek solutions, whether through sponsorships, community support, or fundraising efforts, to ensure that every aspiring athlete has the chance to compete and shine.
In closing, let us take this moment to commend our athletes for their outstanding performance and resilience. Let us also commit to working together to overcome the obstacles that stand in the way of our future champions. With unity and determination, we can continue to nurture talent and foster excellence in sports.
The Goa Yuva Sports Club is registered with the Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) and are organising and participating in different competitions from 2018, and we welcome the support of sports enthusiasts as we organize various sports competitions.
